Greetings readers. Must have been a while since I last updated this blog because I had a hectic schedule for the past few months. Now I am taking a short breather from the exams last week and here is a lowdown on some short story ideas which I have come up with. I would like to hear from you as to which short story would interest you the most because I think I only have time to work on one storyline. Do give me ideas on how to improve my storyboard as well. Much appreciated.
#1: Painkiller
Inspired by the Constantine film, and the name derived from a video game, Painkiller tells the story of a fallen angel who has lived on Earth as an immortal since the days of the Ancient Egyptians. Present day: the angel is summoned by the Heavens to prevent Satan from amassing an evil army to conquer Earth and use the mortal world as a platform to attack Heaven. Heaven already has its hands full fighting skirmishes with Hell, and the fallen angel is the only resource available to destroy the enemy from within. Problem is, the enemy is far more powerful than ever thought – he has reincarnated in the form of the President of the United States, which gives him access to weapons which could annihilate Mankind.
My initial idea was to have the enemy reincarnate as the Pope, but this was restricted by the agenda and powers which this mortal form could possess. If you have any suggestions for either of these two human forms for the enemy or a third alternative, please feedback. For the fallen angel’s form, I have two ideas. One would be a librarian / bookstore owner where he has access to ancient books which he previously did not know of. Second would be a Priest allowing him to be in contact with the Heavens. Do comment on these two ideas as well.
#2: Splinter Cell : Conviction
The fifth instalment in the Splinter Cell franchise ( excluding Essentials for the PSP ) sees NSA superspy Sam Fisher evading arrest from the government while at the same uncovering the truth behind his set-up. The PC and Xbox 360-only game from Ubisoft is expected to be released in November this year, and here is the chance to explore Sam’s adventure before playing the game. The storyline will most probably be different from the game, but the bare essentials are the same. Sam is the good guy, Director Williams is the bad guy and the FBI knows nothing about the conspiracy except to follow orders and arrest Sam. Conviction will feature a Jason Bourne-style of globe-trotting adventure and promises to deliver.
Conviction takes place after the events of Double Agent. Having infiltrated a terrorist organiation John Brown’s Army as a Non-Official Cover (NOC) agent and successfully prevented the detonation of three nuclear bombs in the country, Sam finds himself running away from the police instead of returning to a hero’s welcome. Director Williams who takes over from Lambert does not remove Sam’s terrorist identity and instead erases his connection to the agency, making the Third Echelon agent a wanted terrorist. Now a fugitive, Sam runs across the country and seeks shelter all over the world, hoping to find the mastermind behind this government conspiracy.
Actually i have forgotten one more storyboard, which leaves you readers to choose from the above two and decide on the story you would prefer to be worked on in the months to come. Hope to hear from you soon.
